Top Star Is Not Returning To AEW: “A Lot Of People Had Issues”
A former world champion’s future in AEW remains uncertain.
Britt Baker had significant success in Tony Khan’s promotion for several years, holding the Women’s World Championship between May 2021 and March 2022.
However, the 35-year-old has been absent from TV for over a year and a half. Last February, Tony Khan addressed her status in an interview with The Battleground Podcast, stating that he expects to see her return but did not know when.
Britt’s still somebody very highly regarded and respected here in AEW. So I would expect to see Britt back in AEW. I just don’t want to say when.
Baker also refuted rumors suggesting that she has retired from in-ring competition during an interview with Adam Glyn on TikTok. Nevertheless, she made it clear in a recent post on X that her comeback was not up to her.
Not up to me.
Britt Baker Will Never Return To AEW, Says WWE Legend
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently addressed Britt Baker’s situation in AEW during an interview with Inside The Ropes Wrestling. He noted that he believes her future now lies in dentistry.
The former AEW coach stated that several people in the promotion had issues with the former Women’s World Champion. He added that the women’s division is currently doing well and does not need to be disrupted.
I think her future lies in dentistry. She is one that a lot of people had issues with, and I think the business right now, in AEW’s women’s division, is doing really well and doesn’t need to be disrupted. Let it exist the way it is right now. If she indeed comes back and conforms to whatever system she’s coming to, more power to you. But until I see that happen, I’m not going to believe it.
