Britt Baker’s AEW absence continues to baffle wrestling fans.

Baker’s last competed in the company on the November 13, 2024, taping of Dynamite, where she defeated Penelope Ford. After the match, she was confronted by Serena Deeb, to which she responded, “nobody cares” while looking at the camera.

It would also be remiss not to mention that the former Women’s World Champion had been dealing with backstage issues, even facing suspension after a legitimate altercation with MJF and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout.

Meanwhile, AEW President Tony Khan has always spoken positively about Britt Baker in interviews, saying he would like her to make television appearances whenever she is ready.

Baker, however, somewhat refuted Khan’s claim while responding to a fan’s tweet around the 2026 Revolution pay-per-view, stating that putting her on TV was not her decision.

Her response immediately gained traction online, with many speculating about the potential bitterness and animosity still prevailing between both parties.

Discouraging Update About Britt Baker’s AEW Status

Earlier this year, there were massive debates about Britt Baker potentially jumping ship to WWE as her absence from AEW continued.

In an interview with Adam Glyn uploaded on TikTok, the 35-year-old acknowledged the fans’ sentiment towards her without confirming that she was quitting All Elite Wrestling.

I just love that the fans are still talking about me. Keep the chatter up because I love it. Stay tuned.

Elsewhere, Sean Ross Sapp discussed Baker’s current AEW status during a Fightful Select Q&A session. Sapp was asked if the former champion was discussed as part of Willow Nightingale’s “Comeback Killer” angle.

In response, although Sapp confirmed hearing Britt Baker being discussed, he was unsure if the discussion ever reached Nightingale.

I never heard of an end game or a specific return that was supposed to beat her, but now whenever she’s back, someone can kind of turn the tables on her. I had heard some other names mentioned. I heard Britt discussed. I don’t know, like, if it ever even made it to her or anything.

Obviously it’s a name that gets brought up. Again, that’s not aggregatable. It’s just naturally anybody who’s off TV, their name gets brought up.

He also provided a discouraging update when he was asked if Baker could return to AEW anytime soon. He reiterated that he had not heard Baker being discussed in anything substantial.

Nothing really. It’s more the absence of just anything. I haven’t heard of any, like, substantial interaction. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Sapp even shared information about her contract status with the Jacksonville-based company, stating that while her contract ends sometime in 2026, her contract might get extended due to her time away in the past due to injury-related problems.

She signed a five-year contract in 2021 that would carry her into the fall of this year. Every time I talk about this, it gets aggregated as fact, which is very stupid. So don’t aggregate this. But I am not personally sure if there is any injury time that can be added. She’s missed time with injury, so it’s possible, and I do think that AEW would extend it if they could.

I haven’t heard of anything regarding her or that, or just much of anything, and I think that’s a bummer, man. Like, listen, she had a bad match with Mercedes, she did her spot with Serena and it just wasn’t— it didn’t come off well. But, like, to me, having someone like Britt Baker, who has been super over, wrestle five times in two and a half years is a giant waste of money.

Britt Baker recently confirmed that she was no longer practicing dentistry full-time due to receiving death threats from wrestling fans.
