Tony Khan Explains ROH Final Battle Afternoon Start Time

The ROH Final Battle 2022 pay-per-view will have an afternoon start time with AEW’s owner Tony Khan explaining why.

This event won’t have a different start time due to the time zone difference like WWE Crown Jewel did. Instead, Tony Khan is using this ROH event as an opportunity to conduct an experiment.

Final Battle is set to air on Saturday, December 10th, which coincides with several other big sporting events. There’s the WWE NXT Deadline PLE, a UFC event, and a big football game between teams from Army and Navy.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan has chosen to avoid having ROH Final Battle get lost among those events by airing earlier in the day.

“The college football landscape changes on that day, so it’s a unique opportunity for us to run in the afternoon and see if there is a market for us. There is a great game between Army and Navy, but it’s not a typical big-conference college football Saturday.

It’s a great opportunity for us. It will be different for us in the afternoon, but we’re excited for it. We’re going to deliver a great show for wrestling fans.”

ROH Final Battle will start at 4 pm EST with a pre-show starting an hour earlier. No matches have been announced as of yet, especially as Chris Jericho’s next ROH World Title defense is scheduled for AEW Full Gear on November 19th against Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, and Sammy Guevara.
