Tony Khan “Optimistic” About AEW Return For Kenny Omega

Toy Khan - Kenny Omega split

Tony Khan expects Kenny Omega to make AEW return.

On December 15th, Kenny Omega announced that he would be out of the ring “indefinitely” after being admitted to hospital. It was later revealed that the star had been diagnosed with diverticulitis.

Although the situation is obviously very serious, reports have claimed things could have been even worse, with one observer noting that Omega’s condition was almost “catastrophic.”

In January it was reported that no decision had been taken as to whether Omega would need surgery, and it seems there’s no concrete timeframe for an in-ring comeback.

Tony Khan Refuses To Make Kenny Omega Prediction

During the post-Revolution media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Omega’s condition and the fact he’s advertised for AEW dates in March. Khan said that expecting Omega back for the Canadian dates in question would be “aggressive,” but he remains optimistic he’ll return to AEW.

“I don’t think it would be fair at all to create that expectation that Kenny Omega would be cleared by then. I really appreciate the question. I’m very optimistic Kenny will be coming back. But I don’t know the exact date. And I think that’s an aggressive timetable. We can’t wait to have him back as soon as possible. I don’t think it would be fair to create the expectation he’d be clear by them though. Thanks for asking.”

Kenny Omega hasn’t wrestled since defeating Ethan Page on the December 5th episode of AEW Collision.
