Kenny Omega posted a photo from a hospital while sharing a message that he’ll be away from the ring.

It was announced by Kenny Omega on social media that he’s going to be out of action indefinitely.

“I can’t really sugar coat this. I’m out indefinitely. I tried to keep pushing past the pain for as long as I could until it became too much. Luckily doctors caught me when they did. I’ll be here so in the mean time, please enjoy wrestling!”

After Omega’s Twitter/X message went out, Sean Ross Sapp noted that Omega was dealing with diverticulitis.

“We’re told Kenny had been ill throughout the last week, even ahead of his match with Ethan Page.

He still did the match and the promos, and sought medical attention after, where he was hospitalized and diagnosed with diverticulitis.

Get well soon to Kenny.”

Kenny Omega is a former AEW World Champion who held that title for 346 days, which means he held it for most of 2021. After his title loss to “Hangman” Adam Page, Omega ended up missing nearly a year of action due to multiple surgeries that he needed due to the physical style of wrestling that he has gone through during his career.

The aforementioned match between Omega and fellow Canadian Ethan Page took place in Montreal on AEW Collision, which aired on December 9th and was taped four days earlier.

What Did Kenny Omega Say On AEW Dynamite?

While Kenny Omega spent Friday in a hospital, he appeared on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday for a promo with Chris Jericho. It was a promo that did not get rave reviews from most AEW fans as The Golden Jets exchanged words with AEW Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks & Big Bill.

During the promo, The Golden Jets made it known they would use their tag team title shot for a match against Starks & Bill at the Worlds End PPV on December 30th. There was a lot of awkwardness during the promo as well. It was also made official that the Starks/Bill match is against Jericho/Omega at Worlds End. However, it’s not known if the match will still happen now that Omega is dealing with the diverticulitis situation.

The match was still being advertised on X/Twitter on Thursday evening while Omega posted his hospital update on Friday afternoon.

Everybody at TJRWrestling wishes Kenny Omega good health as he recovers from diverticulitis and whatever other issues he might be dealing with.
