Tony Khan thinks that Ring of Honor is in a strong position to grow as a brand thanks in part to the exposure they have gotten on AEW TV.

Following the ROH Final Battle pay-per-view event on December 10th, it was announced by AEW-ROH Owner Tony Khan that the weekly ROH television show will air on ROH Honor Club at some point in 2023.

After purchasing ROH in March 2022, Tony Khan has consistently featured the brand on AEW Dynamite, Rampage and the company’s YouTube shows. Some AEW stars under contract are holding ROH titles currently like Claudio Castagnoli as the ROH World Champion, the TNT Champion Samoa Joe holding the ROH TV Title and Wheeler Yuta as the ROH Pure Champion as well.

In an interview with TV Insider, Tony Khan was asked about the relaunch of ROH Honor Club with Khan saying that he thinks ROH may be in the strongest position they’ve ever been in since it launched in 2002.

“As I understand it the numbers we already reached in a very short time are strong in membership and customer base. More than ever before. It’s a great value to join HonorClub right now. We’re going to be following up soon to talk about when the weekly Ring of Honor TV will launch and stream on HonorClub for sure.”

“There are a lot of interesting partnerships and possibilities with great wrestling companies. Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling had a great working relationship we are rekindling. We are looking to rekindle that long relationship. Ring of Honor may be in the strongest position they’ve ever been in its 20 years. It’s the perfect time to take the training wheels off.”

As he continued, Tony Khan spoke about using AEW to build ROH and mentioned Claudio Castagnoli as a key part of that.

“We’ve created a lot of familiarity with the brand. It’s also beneficial to both brands. For example, I had earmarked Claudio [Castagnoli] to be a top star for Ring of Honor, but when we had this mess of injuries back in June before Forbidden Door, he came to AEW. It really helped us and came in to debut with Ring of Honor. He ended up coming out a month earlier and cutting his vacation short. An example having the two companies benefited us.”

The most recent edition of AEW Dynamite saw The Elite beat Death Triangle in match five of their best-of-seven series while Jamie Hayter retained the AEW Women’s Title over Hikaru Shida in the main event.
