Tony Khan has explained that he hasn’t explained his plans for a rumored brand split saying he wants to “build curiosity” among wrestling fans.

The launch of AEW Collision is coming in less than a month. On the May 24th edition of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan confirmed the rumors that the first episode of AEW Collision will take place on Saturday, June 17th at the United Center in Chicago.

While it was not announced officially by AEW, Collision will also mark the AEW return of CM Punk after he, and apparently others, signed non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) regarding past issues.

With the launch of AEW Collision, there are also rumors that there will be a brand split or at least a core roster that will be assigned to Dynamite while others will be part of Collision. A reason for that is because there are still plenty of people in AEW that apparently don’t want anything to do with CM Punk, who is seen as a toxic person by some people.

During a conference call with the wrestling media, Tony Khan spoke about how he hasn’t shared his plans for what he will do with the AEW roster because he wants to build curiosity in the wrestling community.

“I haven’t given a lengthy explanation yet for what I’m planning regarding the future of the roster and how people will be allocated across Dynamite and Collision and our other shows. It’s a great question, certainly. I can see why wrestling fans all over the world would be interested and curious about that.”

As he continued, Tony Khan made it clear that the uncertainty is by design.

“That’s frankly by design that we want to build that curiosity in and get people wondering exactly what you’re asking, ‘what’s the future of the AEW roster, and what does this all mean going forward after Double or Nothing?’ It’s a really good question and something we’ll be excited to follow up on.”
