The Rock Snubs John Cena From List Of WWE Stars He Loved Wrestling

The Rock has wrestled in numerous matches during his active WWE career.

After he quit wrestling in 2004 to pursue his Hollywood ambition, his appearances became sporadic. Nevertheless, by that time, he had built himself a legacy.

He was announced as the host of WrestleMania XXVII, which is where his feud with John Cena kicked off, after he interfered in the latter’s main event match against The Miz.

On the subsequent RAW episode, Cena challenged The Rock for a singles match, which was dubbed “Once in a Lifetime” and scheduled for WrestleMania XXVIII.

The match received critical acclaim, with The People’s Champ emerging as the winner.

He then defeated CM Punk to become the WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble. Cena himself won the 30-man Royal Rumble match, setting up another clash with The Rock at WrestleMania 29.

This time, John Cena not only won that match, but also the gold. It was praised by the fans and critics, too.

Despite that, the 53-year-old recently chose to exclude Cena from the list of wrestlers he loved wrestling.

The Rock Names His Favorite In-Ring Rivals

The Rock sat down with Mark Kerr, the UFC legend he portrays in his upcoming movie, The Smashing Machine, for Sports Illustrated.

When naming his favorite in-ring rivals, The Great One named Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, and Booker T without hesitation.

He claimed that all three wrestlers brought something unique with them that made their matches brilliant.

I loved wrestling guys who are just insane athletes who had a pedigree at other things. And that was always Kurt Angle – insane athlete as you know, pedigree in wrestling, gold medal at the Olympics – wins the gold medal with a broken neck, it’s just wild.

Brock Lesnar was the same. Just incredible pedigree, athlete, you could go anywhere in the ring with him.
