“Scrooge” – Ex-WWE Star Calls John Cena A Narcissist

John Cena has been labelled a narcissist by a former WWE star.

Long after Rick Martel succeeded and Lex Luger failed as narcissists in WWE, along came John Cena, who, to fans, seemed anything but.

Cena is renowned for his charity work, breaking records with Make-A-Wish. But anyone achieving the levels of success that Cena achieved in the grizzly world of WWE is bound to make a few enemies along the way.

Perhaps the most infamous chapter of his backstage dealings in WWE came about when Cena refused to lose to the Nexus and the group’s leader, Wade Barrett. John Cena winning the feud all but killed the group stone dead, and none of the members – apart from Daniel Bryan – who had already left the group very early on achieved the success in WWE that they might have otherwise.

John Cena Had To Be In Control

Speaking to his former Nexus partner, David Otunga, ex-WWE star Michael Tarver gave his less-than-glowing assessment of John Cena, comparing him to Ebeneezer Scrooge:

Cena is like Scrooge. He always had to know how many people were in attendance. He would…this is what he would tell us. He had to know what the house was, what the gate was, what the card was. He had to be in control of everything, right? And if someone showed up with something that was off script for his control, then he’d penalise them for it.

I remember hearing JTG told a story about his glasses. He had some gimmick glasses made, and Cena basically told him ‘You’re not getting those.’ I’ve heard other stories like that. But I think, other than besides the issues he had with me, which, you know, I understand them now. They still don’t make sense, but I understand them now. It was mainly a matter of that.
