Scrapped Big E WWE Return Angle Revealed
It seems at one point WWE had plans for Big E to make his return and seek revenge on those who had wronged him.
You’d have had to have a heart of stone not to be moved when The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston did the unthinkable and turned their back on their former partner Big E during the team’s ten-year anniversary celebration.
Big E was forced into retirement due to a career-ending injury in 2022, with Woods and Kingston feeling that they had been abandoned by the former WWE Champion, and choosing to kick him out of the group.
But it seems there had been a plan for the popular star to get his revenge.
Big E Talks New Day Revenge
Speaking on 107.7 The Bone, Big E admitted that WWE once had plans for him to seek revenge on his treacherous partners, but nothing ever came to fruition:
It was something that was discussed at some point.
But, look, I’m very zen these days. I’m a big mindfulness meditation guy. Right now, I’m focused on my broadcasting role. That is my role.
Big E then couldn’t help but take a shot at his former partners, noting their repeated absence from WWE PLEs:
If those guys would actually appear on a PLE… maybe I would spend more time talking and thinking about them. But I look around – I look at the card, no New Day. Another PLE goes by, no New Day. So what do you want me to do?
