Returning WWE Champion Helps Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY Retain at SNME
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was off to a frantic start at the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada, tonight. Cody Rhodes was set to face Jacob Fatu in a grudge match to kick off the show.
However, the match never got underway as Fatu attacked Cody before the bell rang and continued to brawl throughout the stadium. This led to the second match of the night being bumped up to open the show.
The first official match of the night then saw the team of Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY defend their Women’s Tag Team Championship against The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez.
Rhiyo retains the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships
IYO SKY got the match underway for her side and seemed in control before Liv and Roxanne isolated her from Rhea to gain control of the match. They kept Rhea out of the match for a while before IYO managed to tag her partner in.
Ripley’s introduction into the match shifted the entire momentum to her side as she looked to end the match early. However, Perez and Morgan worked together to take Rhea out, but only got a two-count.

Rhea instead hit a Razor’s Edge on Morgan as IYO followed with a missile dropkick, but the pin was broken by Perez in the nick of time. Rhiyo was just about to get the win after Ripley and SKY both hit their finishers on Perez.
However, Raquel snuck up on Rhea and pulled her from behind as she fell on the referee, breaking the pin. Raquel was then taken out by a returning Stephanie Vaquer as Ripley recovered to hit a Riptide on Morgan to retain the titles.
