Randy Orton Confirmed For WWE Survivor Series

Randy Orton

WWE fans got what they’d been waiting for on Monday Night Raw as Cody Rhodes confirmed Randy Orton will be back at Survivor Series, although he didn’t mention Orton by name.

Randy Orton was last in action in a WWE ring back in May 2022 when he teamed with Matt Riddle against The Usos where RK-Bro lost the Raw Tag Team Championship. Since then, Matt Riddle has been released by WWE and The Usos have imploded after Jimmy turned his back on Jey at SummerSlam in 2023.

The Viper underwent back fusion surgery during his time away from WWE and doctors had advised Randy Orton not to return to the ring. But he is and in one of the company’s most dangerous matches – WarGames.

Cody Rhodes Confirms Randy Orton’s WWE Return

On Monday Night Raw in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it was confirmed that Drew McIntyre was joining The Judgment Day in WarGames leaving Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Seth Rollins scrambling to find a fifth man for their own side.

Zayn and Rollins had ideas of their own but when they didn’t come to fruition, Rhodes made a call to an unnamed “him.”

The night’s main event saw McIntyre win the WarGames advantage for his team against Jey Uso but after a brawl between both sides, Cody Rhodes tipped his hand as intimated Orton’s return without saying his name. Cody Rhodes told fans their partner was someone he had a “legacy” with and that he was “an apex predator.” As the fans chanted Orton’s name, Rhodes said they weren’t hearing voices in their head and were right.

Jey Uso didn’t look thrilled due to his own history with Orton and it’s perhaps surprising that Rhodes made the call to Orton given the last time they met one-on-one in a WWE ring, Orton ended his WWE career – albeit temporarily. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton have history dating back to their days in The Authority, so whether or not this team can co-exist inside WarGames remains to be seen.
