R-Truth reveals what he has learned about retirement.

R-Truth (real name: Ron Killings) was the subject of focus in WWE: Unreal Season 2’s second episode, which explored his relationship with SmackDown creative head writer and buddy Road Dogg Jesse James, showcased his highlights as a wrestler and a rapper, and also explained his shocking release from WWE for a period last year.

Killings has been a wrestler since the late 1990s and made his WWE debut in the early 2000s as K-Kwik. He famously formed a ‘rapper duo’ tag team with his friend Road Dogg.

The 54-year-old has had a successful career in WWE, most known for his comedic character work in the 2010s. Truth is a former Two-time United States Champion and multi-time 24/7Champion

A more serious role for him under his real name was teased in 2025 amid John Cena’s heel turn, and he even faced John Cena in a match, but after the heel turn angle was dropped, Truth was reverted to his comedic character by WWE.

R-Truth Gets Candid About Retirement

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Killings is asked whether he’s given any thought to retiring from wrestling after watching the person he calls his “childhood hero” retire (John Cena, whom Truth jokingly calls his childhood hero despite being years older himself).

Killings admits that he definitely got a lot of ideas from John Cena’s retirement, and he feels that the “how” is more important than the “when” in retirement.

His retirement [John Cena] gave me ideas. I know every ride comes to a stop, right? Everything’s got to come to a stop. But it’s how it comes to a stop, you know what I’m saying? It’s what it does along the way to that stop. For that stop to be remembered and appreciated and be f**king like, ‘f**king yeah. Get your a** off.’ But his retirement did a lot for me, and I learned a lot from him.

R-Truth is currently part of the SmackDown brand and makes sporadic appearances backstage and in the ring. He recently wrestled Gunther on Raw and ended up losing the bout.
