A potentially major spoiler regarding WWE SmackDown has just come to light.

The Queen and King of the Ring tournaments have kicked off in full swing in recent weeks. This tournament features some of the biggest stars on the main roster. The finals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournament are set to take place at Night of Champions.

This tournament is a big deal as the winner will receive a World Title shot at SummerSlam. The first rounds of the tournaments just concluded and featured several high-profile fatal four-way matches. The first semi-finals of the Queen of the Ring Tournament took place on WWE RAW and saw IYO SKY defeat Raquel Rodriguez. In the King of the Ring tournament, Oba Femi defeated Dominik Mysterio in the first semi-finals on the red brand. This week on SmackDown, the second semi-final is set to take place. Je’Von Evans will face Jey Uso, while Liv Morgan will face Charlotte Flair in one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament.

Just hours before SmackDown, it was reported that Liv Morgan and Charlotte Flair will main event this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Cory Hays of False Finish also confirmed the same on social media.

The real reason why WWE star Liv Morgan is in the Queen of the Ring tournament has been revealed

Fans were surprised to learn that Liv Morgan was also included in the Queen of the Ring tournament. This is because she is already a World Champion and doesn’t need another World Title shot. According to a report by Ibou of Self Made Sessions, Liv Morgan was supposed to be feuding with Stephanie Vaquer. However, the latter is not ready to return yet. Their storyline will resume when Stephanie Vaquer returns.

“I asked about the Liv Morgan thing and basically the mentality is what they’ve planned out with her involves Stephanie Vaquer and she’s not ready [to return] yet. So when she’s ready, they will resume.

My immediate retort was ‘So why not just come up with something else in the in between time?’ But that’s just not how they operate for whatever reason. Basically, they’re going to just do the next step with Stephanie. Stephanie’s hurt, so Liv’s just going to exist in the meantime.” [H/T: Wrestlezone.com]

It remains to be seen who will advance to the finals of the Queen and King of the Ring tournaments on WWE SmackDown.
