Paul Heyman On Bobby Heenan – “Screw Him, He’s Dead”

Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman will not take any suggestions that he’s not the GOAT manager.

Paul Heyman has been by the side of some of the most iconic wrestling stars of all time during his long career including Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and of course, his Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

As a result of his tenure and the charges he’s had by his side, there’s no wonder that many consider Paul Heyman to be the greatest wrestling manager of all time. That place was cemented in the mind of some fans when he led Brock Lesnar to conquer The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30.

Since then, Heyman has not done his claim to the GOAT title any harm as he has been Roman Reigns’ wise man for the past three years during his unprecedented modern title reign.

However, as with everything in wrestling, the idea of who the best manager is subjective with several outstanding candidates but it’s best not to tell Paul Heyman that.

What did Paul Heyman say about Bobby Heenan?

Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, Paul Heyman appeared alongside Roman Reigns and gave a straightforward response to whether or not WWE Hall of Famer Bobby Heenan is really the greatest of all time:

“I’m the GOAT, I’m the greatest of all time. Undisputed. [Bobby Heenan is mentioned by the host] Screw him, he’s dead. God doesn’t answer my prayers. Do you want me to prove I’m the GOAT? I’m with him [Reigns]. Why would he settle for anything less than the GOAT?

“He’s the Tribal Chief, he’s the biggest attraction not only in sports or entertainment but of sports entertainment. He has smashed every box office record that WWE has ever had, not only domestically but all over the world on a global basis and he has done it in Saudi Arabia, he’s done it in the UK, he’s done it in Mexico, he’s done it in Canada, he’s done it here in the United States.

“He continues to do it on SmackDown, every Friday night just topping the previous Friday night. Why would he settle for anything less than the absolute best?”

Roman Reigns will face Tribal Combat at SummerSlam when The Bloodline’s long-running saga takes its latest twist as Jey Uso challenges the man he once called Tribal Chief for the WWE Universal Championship.
