Jon Moxley’s Continental Championship was on the line tonight at AEW Dynasty as the leader of the Death Riders faced off against Will Ospreay, with both the Death Riders and United Empire banned from ringside.

Ever since he made his long-awaited comeback from injury last month at Revolution, Ospreay has targeted Jon Moxley after he was responsible for The Aerial Assassin’s injury.

Mox led the assault on Ospreay at Forbidden Door last month and targeted his neck as he hit him with multiple Paradigm Shifts and stomped on a steel chair wrapped around his neck.

Both of them have been embroiled in a heated rivalry since Revolution and were involved in a huge brawl during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite as Ospreay brought the United Empire with him.

The match began shockingly as Mox was hit with a Hidden Blade right when the bell rang, before Ospreay hit him with another as soon as he had recovered. He targeted Moxley’s neck and dominated his opponent before a misstep allowed Mox to make a comeback.

Will tried to knee Mox’s head into the steel steps, but he missed, and Mox took advantage of it. He once again targeted Ospreay’s tapped-up neck, intending to damage it even further.

Moxley continued to target Ospreay’s neck, but he managed to find a way to come back into the match. Mox hit him with the Paradigm Shift, but was met with an immediate Hidden Blade as both men wrestled on wobbly legs.

Ospreay looked to put an end to the match with a Tiger Driver on the steel steps, but Moxley reversed it into a Spike Piledriver on the steps, doing severe damage to Will’s neck.

He was tended by medical personnel immediately and somehow made his way back into the match, but was met with multiple Paradigm Shifts and a Death Rider as Jon Moxley retained his AEW Continental Championship.
