North American Title Match Announced For WWE NXT Vengeance Day

The NXT North American Title will be on the line at the next Premium Live Event presented by the brand on February 4th at Vengeance Day.

Wes Lee has been the NXT North American Champion for about three months since he won the title in a Ladder Match at Halloween Havoc last October. Since then, Lee has been a fighting champion that has taken on all comers and has kept his title.

This past week on the January 10th edition of NXT, two of Lee’s biggest rivals competed in a match. Dijak faced off with Tony D’Angelo with Dijak picking up the win with a boot to the face after Tony D’s friend Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo tried to help out Tony D.

While it wasn’t announced during the NXT broadcast, the match between Dijak and D’Angelo was essentially a number one contender’s match. That’s because WWE has announced that Dijak will challenge Lee for the NXT North American Title at Vengeance Day in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, February 4th.

Dijak has been part of WWE since the summer of 2017 using several different names including Dominik Dijakovic, then he was T-Bar as part of the Retribution group on the main roster (that did not go well) and he’s been Dijak since returning to NXT in late 2022.

Dijak has yet to hold a title in his WWE career, so he’ll have a chance to win some gold at Vengeance Day.

By adding the NXT North American Title match to the Vengeance Day card, it means that three title matches are now official.

* NXT Championship Steel Cage Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller

* NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Gigi Dolin

* NXT North American Championship: Wes Lee (c) vs. Dijak

You can watch WWE NXT Vengeance Day on Saturday, February 8th at 8pm ET on Peacock and WWE Network.
