One of NWA’s top stars is finishing up with the company this month and is expected to be WWE-bound!

According to a recent report from Cassidy Haynes Bodyslam.net, Colby Corino’s contract with NWA is set to expire at the end of this month and he will be a free agent as of January 1st. The company’s final television tapings of the year are taking place on December 5th and 6th, and Corino is not expected to appear for the company again once the set of tapings is complete.

The report also sheds light on the potential future for the 26 year old, stating that WWE has shown a lot of interest in the second generation star. Cassidy Haynes was told that once Colby Corino is officially a free agent in January, he is expected to travel to Orlando to spend time at the WWE Performance Center, where the company will take an in-depth look at him. If everything goes well, he is expected to sign with the company and report to NXT.

Corino’s father, former ECW and NWA World Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino, currently works in a backstage role with WWE as a producer and trainer for NXT. Back in August of 2021, Colby defeated his father in singles action for Premier Wrestling Federation in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

NWA recently made headlines when they crowned Tyrus as their World Heavyweight Champion, a decision that greatly amused WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
