No Timeline For CM Punk Return, Broken Foot Was “Shattered”

CM Punk

There is currently no timeline in place for CM Punk to return to the ring after he revealed the full extent of his recent injury.

Just days after winning the AEW World Championship, CM Punk gave an emotional address to fans on the June 3rd episode of Rampage. While some fans feared the worst of the star, he revealed that he required surgery for an undisclosed injury, so would be out of action for the foreseeable future.

This led to a short tournament which ended at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door where Jon Moxley was crowned Interim AEW World Champion.

Although there haven’t been many updates on Punk’s recovery, aside from the fact his surgery was successful, it was recently suggested that he was targeting a return at All Out. However, the man himself has now appeared to distance himself from any hints that he may be back any time soon.

During an appearance on the AEW panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Punk explained that there was no timeline in place for his return. Furthermore, he revealed that his broken foot had been “shattered” and he was re-learning how to walk.

The comments come after AEW President Tony Khan was also cautious when discussing a potential CM Punk comeback during the post ROH Death Before Dishonor media scrum. While Khan didn’t rule out Punk returning at AEW All Out, he was also keen not to make any promises in that regard.

However, in some good news for the company, Bryan Danielson has announced that he will be back in the ring on the July 27th episode of Dynamite to take on Daniel Garcia.
