Nick Aldis has been with the WWE since August 2023.

Before signing with the Stamford promotion, he had competed worldwide and in various companies, including TNA and NWA.

Aldis has previously confessed that he wanted to join WWE someday, but made peace with it never happening as years went by.

So, when the opportunity knocked on his doorstep, with the company asking him to step in as a backstage producer, he jumped on it.

Nick Aldis was later approached by Bruce Prichard during a production meeting, revealing that he had an idea to introduce him as a character.

The company’s higher-ups appointed him as the SmackDown General Manager, a position that he holds to this date. Aldis stated that he drew inspiration from former managers like Eric Bischoff, Stephanie McMahon, and Teddy Long for his character.

Aldis made his professional wrestling debut in 2004 as an 18-year-old. He has held numerous titles across different promotions, including the TNA and NWA World Heavyweight Championships.

Nick Aldis Reveals His Future As A Wrestler

Nick Aldis has yet to officially compete in WWE.

The 39-year-old is in excellent shape physically and looks like he could live out a few years competing inside the squared circle.

Despite not wrestling, he has come close to throwing hands with other wrestlers, including the likes of Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes.

During a recent interview with Konnan and Disco Inferno on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Aldis was asked by the AAA Hall of Famer if he would wrestle again.

It’s not really been talked about one way or the other.

He revealed that he would love to step inside the squared circle as a wrestler, citing Matt Cardona as an example.

It’s like, Matt Cardona is a perfect example, where it’s like stay ready. But I also made a commitment to, you know, this role (general manager). [4:07 onwards]
