WWE Star Seems To Confirm In-Ring Career Is Over
One major WWE star has seemed to indicate that their in-ring career is now at an end.
2025 was the year of retirements in WWE. The year was dominated by the final in-ring career of John Cena. Cena shocked everyone when he turned heel at Elimination Chamber and then made history when he won the 17th WWE Championship of his career at WrestleMania 41.
Cena abandoned that heel turn over the summer, lost his title back to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, and then became a Grand Slam Champion when he won the Intercontinental Title from Dominik Mysterio. Cena’s career ended at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th when he meekly tapped out to Gunther.
In the summer, Gunther got his first taste of retiring a WWE icon as he defeated Goldberg in the WWE Hall of Famer’s final bout.
WWE Has Not Discussed Nick Aldis Wrestling
Now, it seems another WWE star has admitted that their in-ring career is over, even if they’d love to lace up their boots one more time.
Speaking to ex-WCW star Konnan on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis indicated his time as a wrestler is over as WWE have avoided that discussion:
It’s not really been talked about one way or the other.
However, when asked if it was up to him, would he like to wrestle again, he simply added:
Of course, dude.
Nick Aldis is a former TNA and NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and at the age of just 39 years old, it seems incredible to think that he might not compete in the ring again.
