AEW Original Leaving Company?
An AEW Original has sparked speculation about their future with their recent action.
After starting his professional wrestling career in the independent circuit in 2010, Sammy Guevara joined All Elite Wrestling in February 2019.
In October of that year, he became part of a faction called The Inner Circle, led by then-AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, with Santana, Ortiz, and Jake Hager as his stablemates.
The group regularly feuded with popular names like Cody Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, Darby Allin, and The Elite (Kenny Omega, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, and The Young Bucks).
MJF joined the group with Wardlow in November 2020, but his growing tensions with Sammy Guevara saw the latter depart. However, it turned out to be a ruse, which was aimed at exposing MJF’s duplicity, as he was planning a coup of The Inner Circle. Jericho fired MJF, who went on to creat his own stable called The Pinnacle.
The Pinnacle and The Inner Circle continued their feud until mid-2021, competing in a War Games match and a Stadium Stampede bout at different occasions.
As part of a member of the faction, Guevara became a 2-time TNT Champion, before it disbanded in early 2022.
It is noteworthy that of late the 32-year-old has not been featured on television excessively. When asked about his lack of TV appearances during an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Guevara said the following:
Tell Tony. Honestly, man, that’s obviously not my call, but whatever they decide to call, like I think the last time I was on AEW I wrestled Darby for the world title. I was given a couple hours’ notice, and I just tried to do the best that I could, you know?
Anytime I go out there, I try to give you a show like you’ve never seen before because that’s what I do. I’m Sammy Guevara, the Spanish God. I think I’m the best.
Sammy Guevara Alters Social Media Bio Teasing AEW Exit
Sammy Guevara was touted as a future AEW World Champion while working alongside Chris Jericho in The Inner Circle. His feud with Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship was critically acclaimed.
Unfortunately, he was also involved in controversies that led to suspensions, although his momentum never felt stunted.
Despite that, most of his recent matches have taken place in AEW’s sister company Ring of Honor. His last appearance in the Jacksonville-based promotion was on the June 6 edition of Collision, where he teamed up with RUSH and Dralistico in a losing cause against The Conglomeration.
Elsewhere, social media users pointed out that Guevara had deleted all mentions of All Elite Wrestling from his online bio, sparking discussions about a potential departure. Regardless, Fightful posted on X that he is still listed as a talent on the company’s website.

Guevara is married to fellow company talent Tay Melo, who returned to television after a nearly two-year absence on June 4, 2025, having given birth to their daughter in November 2023.
