Sammy Guevara Gives Sad Update On AEW Future
Sammy Guevara has been absent on AEW TV since his match against Bandido on January 7.
During the Dynamite episode from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Guevara went up against the Ring of Honor World Champion in a singles match.
At one point in the bout, the 32-year-old got busted open and was bleeding from his nose. Later, he hinted backstage that he might have broken his nose.
While appearing on his Instagram account for a Q&A session, Sammy Guevara was asked about his return to AEW after missing a couple of months.
Guevara clarified that his absence was not due to his inability to compete, but rather a stance on behalf of the promotion.
When am I going to be back on AEW TV? That’s a great question. Who knows — maybe tomorrow? No, I won’t be there tomorrow. Uncertain. I would like to be, but that’s not really a question for me. I just do my thing and make sure I’m ready.
They could literally call me at any point and I could go out there and compete for 30 minutes. I feel great, I feel healthy. So whenever I get that call, your boy’s ready. [H/T: Ringside News]
Current AEW Champion Wishes They Got More Screen Time With Sammy Guevara
‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey recently expressed his desire to get more screen time with Sammy Guevara.
Bailey, who is one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions alongside Adam Page and Kevin Knight, received minimal in-ring time with Guevara when he competed in a multi-person tag match against Guevara’s team.
Speaking on one of his recent vlogs, Bailey hoped he got featured more with Sammy, as they had fun matches during their time in DDT.
I wish I got to work with Sammy Guevara a lot more in AEW. He and I had some really fun matches in DDT and I’d love to do that again
