Nick Aldis is WWE SmackDown’s new General Manager and that job looks to be taking precedence over the star’s other work.
On the season premiere edition of SmackDown Triple H named some new authority figures in WWE. Following his years as an on-screen official in the company Adam Pearce has been given the job of Raw General Manager while former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis was given the same job on the blue brand.
Aldis is reported to have signed a deal with WWE following his trial spell as a producer in the company over the summer. It remains unknown if he will continue his producer role now that he has been given this on-screen job.
Nick Aldis forced to miss Calgary show
Dave Meltzer has now offered more on Aldis’ status going forward in his Daily Update after the English star was forced to pull out of an appearance on a show in Calgary because it was on a Friday. Meltzer noted the impression given is that Aldis will be able to fulfill prior commitments as long as they don’t fall on a Friday. Whether or not Aldis will be able to take new dates outside of WWE remains to be seen.
