Naomi is back in WWE and happy to feel the glow on the Smackdown brand once again.
At the Royal Rumble, there was a big surprise early in the Women’s Royal Rumble match as Naomi entered the match in the #2 spot. While it was expected that she would return to WWE at the event, it was still exciting to see the former champion return to the company for the first time since departing in May 2022.
During that Women’s Royal Rumble match, Naomi impressively lasted 1:02:18 meaning she was in there near the end. She also eliminated Becky Lynch and Alba Fyre from the match.
The veteran former Smackdown Women’s Champion & Women’s Tag Team Champion worked for WWE from 2009 to 2022. Her return has strengthened the WWE women’s roster even more.
On WWE Smackdown following the Royal Rumble, Naomi and Tiffany Stratton were announced as new members of the Smackdown roster. Elektra Lopez is another woman that has joined the show after she debuted on the blue brand one week earlier.
How Does Naomi Feel About Being On SmackDown Again?
In a WWE Digital exclusive interview, Naomi spoke about what it means to be on Smackdown.
“It feels very special, magical, more exciting than anything I’ve ever done thus far in my career. To have the opportunity to be back and return in such a way, I’m still on a high about it all. I’m still adjusting because there’s a lot of new faces, a lot that I don’t like, and also a lot that I remember and I do like.”
“So yeah, I’m just getting reacquainted again and having an opportunity to come back, I’m ready and willing to work my way back up through the ranks and hopefully get myself back into the championship picture. But before I do any of that, I gotta glow.”
During her time away from WWE, Naomi spent about eight months in TNA Impact Wrestling using her real name Trinity and she had a terrific as their Knockouts Champion.
Putting Naomi on Smackdown wasn’t a surprising move considering her husband Jimmy Uso is a big part of the blue brand as part of The Bloodline stable.
