Multiple WWE Legends Send Support To Ric Flair

Ric Flair

Several veterans and current WWE stars have come to the defence of Ric Flair.

The Nature Boy only signed with AEW in early November, but he’s already found himself in hot water with fans online. The signing of Flair was already seen as a controversial move given his age and history of sexual assault allegations, but the man himself has added fuel to the fire with comments during a promo.

The veteran appeared on the November 29th episode of Dynamite and in a segment filmed for Ramage. The Rampage segment is yet to air.

During the promo on Rampage, Flair said “18-28 no boyfriends, no husbands, meet me at my hotel room.” The comments generated significant backlash on social media, but Flair isn’t without supporters.

Following the outcry, Ric Flair said he would leave AEW if he’s embarrassing the company. But several WWE legends have told him to ignore the criticism.

In the comments on the post, Steve Austin wrote:

“Ric, I enjoy watching you do all the things you do. And you’re always having fun. Keep doing you. And that’s the bottom line.”

Chris Jericho also responded, imploring Flair not to listen to the “assholes.”

“Don’t listen to the online assholes champ. You’re f*ckin Ric Flair. Do what you want. F*ck em…”

Kevin Nash, JD McDonagh, and Ryan Nemeth also posted messages of support.

Ric Flair Signed To Multi-Year AEW Deal

Ric Flair officially signed with All Elite Wrestling on November 2nd, 2023, with the news coming a little over a week after he debuted on Dynamite as a gift to Sting. Flair penned a multi-year deal, with his Wooooo! Energy brand becoming the official energy drink of AEW.

Despite the nature of the deal, Flair has repeatedly appeared on television, and will seemingly be a regular alongside Sting until he retires at AEW Revolution 2024.
