Major AEW Star Not Expected On AEW TV Before Forbidden Door

Whilst the card for Forbidden Door takes shape, it would appear a top AEW star won’t be part of AEW’s filming schedule until then.

With under a week to go until AEW and NJPW lock horns once more at Forbidden Door, there has naturally been plenty to talk about in the build-up. One headline contest which has now been signed will see Kenny Omega defend his IWGP United States Championship against Will Ospreay, after ‘The Aerial Assassin’ turned up on last week’s edition of Dynamite.

With just two stops left for Dynamite and Collision, and a Rampage taping as part of the former, you would expect ‘The Best Bout Machine’ to be part of at least one of those shows to help enhance the storyline. However, Dave Meltzer at The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Kenny Omega will not appear live on either of those shows.

That doesn’t mean he won’t appear at all, as there could be a pre-recorded promo or similar aired, however it would indicate he won’t be in attendance.

This could also link to the return of CM Punk on the inaugural episode of AEW Collision. It has been reported that Punk is set to be part of this week’s Dynamite which could confirm his status for Forbidden Door, although that appearance is not advertised at present.

Although it seems Omega won’t appear, this week’s episode of Dynamite is set to include Jeff Jarrett vs. Mark Briscoe in a Concession Stand Brawl, Kris Statlander vs. Taya Valkyrie for the TBS Championship, and Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki vs. Action Andretti, Darius Martin and AR Fox.
