The Men’s WarGames match is officially set for Survivor Series as Kevin Owens joined the team, much to the surprise of members of The Bloodline.

It was an interesting week for Kevin Owens because last Sunday he was wrestling Austin Theory at a WWE Raw live event in Madison, Wisconsin. During the match, Owens suffered a knee injury. They went to the finish shortly after with Owens beating Theory with a Stunner. Owens was also helped to the back by a referee due to the sore knee. It was reported that it was an MCL sprain, which means a sprained knee.

During the week, there was confirmation that Owens was indeed going to be the fifth man on the babyface WarGames team at Survivor Series after the tease that took place on the November 11th Smackdown. However, it wasn’t known for sure if Owens was going to be cleared to compete.

On the November 18th episode of Smackdown, The Brawling Brutes trio of Sheamus, Butch & Ridge Holland were joined by Drew McIntyre. During that opening segment, Sheamus and Drew made it clear that they are on the same page after years of fighting eachother. Sheamus even mentioned Drew was the best man at Sheamus’ wedding a few weeks ago. They were interrupted by Sami Zayn, who didn’t seem to care who the fifth man was on the Brutes team because he was confident that The Bloodline would win.

The main event of Smackdown saw Butch beat Zayn in a Smackdown World Cup Quarterfinal match partly because Jey Uso went into the ring while he was running away from Sheamus. The timing was bad because Zayn wanted to hit his Helluva Kick. Butch ended up beating Zayn with the Bitter End for the win.

After the main event, there was a brawl between The Brawling Brutes team and The Bloodline, which included Zayn, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, who apparently “just arrived” at the show. A big brawl ensued from there and that’s when we found out the fifth guy on the Brutes team.

It was Kevin Owens making his television return after being off TV for several weeks. The good thing is Owens showed no signs of a knee injury as he hit superkicks on both Usos and got into a fight with Reigns. As Michael Cole noted, Owens faced Reigns several times early in The Tribal Chief’s run as Universal Champion, but failed to win the title oftentimes because Reigns had help. This time around, Owens got the advantage over Reigns by hitting him with a Stunner.

The addition of Owens made it official for Survivor Series on November 26 as The Brawling Brutes, McIntyre & Owens face The Bloodline in the Men’s WarGames match.

The other Survivor Series matches are:

* Women’s WarGames Match: Bayley, IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross & Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Mia Yim & one more partner.

* AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor

* Smackdown Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Shotzi

You can watch WWE Survivor Series streaming live on Peacock in the U.S. and on WWE Network everywhere else at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, November 26th.
