Kenny Omega Addresses WWE Speculation

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega says his “spidey sense hasn’t been triggered yet” in relation to a possible future switch from AEW to WWE.

During his AEW career that started in early 2019 when the company launched, Kenny Omega was introduced as an Executive Vice President in the company along with the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) and Cody Rhodes, who left AEW in 2022 after three years to return to WWE.

It had been noted in some reports that Omega was “open-minded” about a move to WWE in his own future while other reports noted that time may well have been added to The Cleaner’s AEW contract as a result of time missed due to injury meaning any such move could be delayed.

Speaking on CBC’s Front Burner podcast Kenny Omega was asked outright about possibly moving to WWE and Omega says anything new can be appealing to him:

“I think at this point anything new appeals to me and challenges also always, always appeal to me. At one point it was one of those, ‘if you say I can’t do it, I really want to do it’. Now it’s not that, I wouldn’t say I’m older and wiser it’s more like, I’m older and I care less about that it’s more about what kinds of people can I reach. What kind of positive thing can I contribute? And, what do I even feel best suited for?

“[…] I always kind of try to find my own way or at least try to lean in the direction of where my heart is pulling me, and right now, I’m taking one step at a time, and with this Winnipeg show it feels like ‘yeah this feels right’ and what’s next? I don’t know because nothing has spoken to me, nothing has told me this is what you need to do. The spidey sense hasn’t been triggered yet.”

Kenny Omega will lead The Elite into battle in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada as they take on The Jericho Appreciation Society and The House of Black for the AEW Trios Championship on Dynamite.
