Karrion Kross & Scarlett Destroy Former WWE Star In Shocking GCW Return
Karrion Kross and Scarlett have finally made their much-awaited return to wrestling.
Kross, who now goes by his indie name Killer Kross, is scheduled to face Richard Holliday at WrestlePro’s Killer Smokeshow on September 21 and will also compete in another match on September 19 for DEFY, although his opponent remains unannounced.
Many fans had hoped this would mark Kross’s return to wrestling, but the wrestling world was stunned when the former WWE star made a surprise comeback at GCW Homecoming instead. His unexpected appearance caught the attention of the wrestling universe, creating a major buzz on the internet.
During a match for the vacant Garage Beer Championship between Shotzi Blackheart and Matt Cardona at GCW Homecoming, Kross and Scarlett made an unannounced entrance.
Amidst a heated contest involving notable wrestlers like Nick Gage, Jimmy Lloyd, Mance Warner, and Tommy Invincible, Kross and Scarlett’s interference dramatically turned the tide. They viciously attacked ex-WWE star Matt Cardona, allowing another ex-WWE star, Shotzi Blackheart, to capitalize and secure the championship victory.

Dave Meltzer Exposes WWE’s Controversial Contract Negotiation Tactics Following Karrion Kross’ Departure
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s contract negotiation strategies, explaining they differ based on a wrestler’s value to the company. For less essential or replaceable talent, WWE delays contract talks until the last possible moment and then offers a strict take-it-or-leave-it deal with limited flexibility.
“The idea is when it’s someone who they don’t care about, how do they do it? You know, before the thing started, I mean, I was absolutely told that like this is how—if it’s a marginal person—they will wait to the end and then they will make an offer and they will give a time frame: take it or leave it, this is your offer. And I was told that before the Kross thing.”
However, for highly valued stars, WWE ensures that contracts are signed well in advance of their expiration to avoid losing key talent. This approach was reaffirmed in the case of Karrion Kross, who was released by WWE on August 10, indicating his importance to WWE at the time of his contract negotiations.
“If you’re a star, if they see you as a star, they’re going to try to sign you six months ahead. Okay, that’s how it is. Sometimes it doesn’t work that way—Drew McIntyre, obviously they tried to sign him way early. He turned down offers, eventually signed, though he was always going to sign. He was never going anywhere else. But, you know, he upped his value essentially by having some really good months in the Punk feud and everything like that.”
