WWE’s Plans For Roman Reigns If The Rock Doesn’t Wrestle At WrestleMania 43
There’s still under a year for WrestleMania 43, but without question, Roman Reigns would be one of its top attractions.
Furthermore, next year’s WrestleMania will take place in Saudi Arabia, where Reigns is a beloved figure. Earlier reports claimed that WWE may be contemplating The Rock as his opponent, with the former champion even expressing his excitement about ‘Mania taking place in the Kingdom.
But does the Stamford promotion have a plan in place if The Rock decides against stepping back inside the squared circle?
A latest report by Self Made Sessions sheds light on a backup plan that WWE might resort to if The Rock strategy does not work.
Speaking on the podcast, Self Made Pro claimed that Triple H might pit Oba Femi against Roman Reigns under the circumstances.
So I talked to someone in WWE, right? There’s a lot of moving pieces right now and they’re still unclear, at least as far as I’m aware, as far as the people I spoke to are aware, I should say. Right now, if Dwayne’s not doing Mania, then they’re looking to do Oba Femi and Roman at Mania. [H/T: Ringside News]
Femi, meanwhile, lost his WrestleMania rematch against Brock Lesnar at Clash in Italy on Sunday. Despite the setback, he advanced into the semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament by winning a 4-way match on Raw.
Also, a report by Wrestling Observer last year claimed that negotiations were underway to bring The Rock back for a final wrestling match, which would allegedly earn him a handsome payday.
The Rock’s participation at WrestleMania 43 will hugely depend on what his Hollywood schedule looks like at the time. Reportedly, he has signed a movie to be directed by Martin Scorsese.
Roman Reigns Wins The Services Of Jacob Fatu
Continuing their feud from WWE Backlash, Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu squared off again at Clash in Italy in a Tribal Combat match.
Reigns had previously contested under the format twice, winning both matches, one each against Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa.
There was also worry on Fatu’s end, as it was reported that he had sustained an injury during a house show in Liverpool a couple of days ago.
However, The Samoan Werewolf did not show any signs of discomfort and completed the match. In the closing minutes, Reigns ran him through a table before spearing him for the victory.
As per the Tribal Combat rules, Fatu was now forced to fall in line and acknowledge Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief, which is exactly what he did on Raw. While at it, he also fired warning shots at Jey Uso, stating that his loyalty was toward Reigns only.
The segment ended with Reigns, Fatu, Jey, and Jimmy Uso pointing their 1s skyward.
