The Rock Teases WrestleMania 43 Involvement After Talks With WWE
Could The Rock be part of WWE’s plans for WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia?
For the first time ever, WrestleMania will take place outside of North America in 2027 when WWE’s showpiece event heads to Saudi Arabia.
Ever since the announcement, rumours of the Kingdom wanting to spend big to bring back all manner of legends have done the rounds. One such legend that it might be easy for them to grab for the show is TKO board member, The Rock.
Fans have questioned The Rock’s loyalty to WWE after he disappeared following John Cena’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber in early 2025. The heel run for Cena was abandoned later in the year.
The Rock Heading To WrestleMania 43?
Appearing on Raffi Talks, The Rock discussed WrestleMania heading to Saudi Arabia and admitted he’s been having good conversations with WWE about the show:
I’m excited for the brand of WrestleMania. I’m excited for the Kingdom because that is a big show. I’m also excited not only for the brand, but I’m excited for our athletes to be able to participate in an event like that, and that is a global event.
And so I can’t wait. In terms of the conversations I’ve been having, it’s all good. It will always be good.
WWE was one of the first major brands to get in partnership with Saudi Arabia as the country looks to exert its influence and change its image across the world. Critics have referred to it as “sportswashing”, with the country hoping that holding major sporting events will cause people to overlook its horrendous human rights record and treatment of women.
Darts was the latest sport to get on board with the PDC holding the inaugural Saudi Darts Masters recently. Top player, Nathan Aspinall, caused a stir when he suggested that some fans in attendance at the event were not necessarily there through choice.
