The WWE King and Queen of the Ring tournament kicked off tonight on Monday Night RAW, after the participants and brackets were revealed during the Clash in Italy post-match show.

A whopping number of participants are taking part in the tournaments this year, considering that all the first-round matches were announced as fatal-four-ways instead of the usual singles clashes.

The King of the Ring tournament began with the first match of the night, which saw the Intercontinental Champion, Penta, take on Solo Sikoa, Carmelo Hayes, and Oba Femi.

The WWE RAW match began with The Ruler dominating the field, much like how everyone would’ve expected. He had a couple of face-to-face interactions with Talla Tonga before Solo and Oba went to fight in the crowd.

As they made their way back into the ring, all three competitors combined to take Oba out of the equation. Solo and Talla Tonga then worked together to smash Oba into the ringpost multiple times before Talla took him out with a Big Boot to the Ruler.

They weren’t able to keep him down for long, though, as Oba came back and took Talla out with a slam onto the announce table. He hit a huge Spinebuster to Penta before hitting the Fall from Grace to Solo Sikoa to advance to the next round.
