Major SmackDown Star Barred From Future WWE Title Matches After Clash In Italy
A total of four WWE titles were defended at Clash in Italy tonight, but only one of them changed hands as Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch to become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
The only other women’s title match on the card saw Rhea Ripley defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill in a rematch from WrestleMania 42.
It was an incredibly hard-hitting match between the two women, before B-Fab and Michin’s introduction turned things messy. It seemed like they had turned the tide in Cargill’s favor.
Rhea Ripley earned a massive win on WWE Clash in Italy
However, Rhea had some backup of her own as Charlotte Flair leapt from the barricade to take out both B-Fab and Michin, and this allowed Ripley to hit the Riptide on Cargill for the win.
Following her match, Ripley spoke to Byron Saxton backstage and revealed that she had called Charlotte Flair before the match and asked her to be her backup, and the Queen agreed.
She then revealed that following her win over Jade, she now has no rematches remaining. Rhea claimed that Jade can’t challenge for the WWE Women’s Championship again and has to go to the back of the line.
