WWE Clash in Italy was off to a huge start as the fans were treated to two back-to-back World Title matches to kick off the show in Turin. Tonight’s show marked the promotion’s first PLE in the country, and WWE tried to deliver a major spectacle for fans.

The night began with the mouth-watering clash between Cody Rhodes and Gunther for the Undisputed WWE Championship, but it somewhat ended in controversy.

It was followed up by the WWE Women’s Championship match which saw Jade Cargill challenge Rhea Ripley in a rematch from WrestleMania 42. The two powerhouses wrestled an extremely high intensity match which had them both spent.

Jade looked to recapture the title she lost at the Show of Shows last month and began the match dominantly. She took control of the match early on before Rhea Ripley came back in the match.

Rhea Ripley finds a new ally in WWE

Ripley unleashed a flurry of attacks on The Storm which included a massive Missile Dropkick, but could only get a two count. Following a failed Razor’s Edge attmept, both women began trading blows before they both tried to hit their finishers on the other.

Rhea gained the advantage after this back and forth as she hit the Razor’s Edge this time and followed it up with a Shining Wizard, but it wasn’t enough to get the win.

The champion looked to get the win with a Riptide to Cargill, but she reversed it into a DDT mid-air to get a two-count. She then got another near-fall with a Blue Thunder Bomb and decided to go up the top rope, but was caught in her tracks by Rhea.

Both women were laying on the floor after a Back Superplex when Michin and B-Fab came down the ring. Jade tried to catch Rhea with the Jaded but Ripley reversed it into a Riptide. She was about to win when B-Fab tried to put Jade’s leg on the rope but was caught by the referee.

The duo were then ejected from the ringside but were instead taken out by Charlotte Flair. The distraction allowed Cargill to hit the Jaded, but Charlotte put Rhea’s foot on the rope this time to save her from defeat. Ripley then recovered to hit the Riptide on Jade to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.
