Triple H’s Power In WWE Allegedly Limited By Higher Authority
Triple H’s booking decision has come under a lot of scrutiny recently.
A lot has been said about Triple H’s booking decisions as of late. Fans and critics have openly criticized the way storylines have been booked every week. Many fans even started speculating that the sports entertainment juggernaut has been using AI to write some of the storylines.
Triple H always seems to find his way in the middle of these criticisms. Even when TKO pushed for major contract restructures, which led to New Day leaving the company, The Game was blamed for it. However, former TNA wrestler Chris Harris believes there is a higher power at play.
Chris Harris believes Triple H’s hands are tied in WWE
Speaking on his Tagging in with Chris Harris podcast, the former TNA star said that he’s glad Triple H is in charge of the creative direction since he is an old-school guy who is always open to new ideas. However, he claimed that TKO is more interested in turning a profit than in the wrestling side of things.
“I’m glad that we have an old-school guy in charge. I think he’s got some good ideas. It sounds like at least from what they allow us to see—and I guess most of this I’ve seen from that damn Unreal program. But it looks like he’s open for other ideas, and they try to agree on ideas together. I guess what I’m trying to say I’m glad we have an old-school guy old-school mind in charge. However, I also feel like since TKO has taken over, I feel like there’s only so much that a guy in his position can do, because you’ve the got higher-ups that it’s very clear that they are so money-hungry and they’re doing everything just to make a buck. And I get that—that’s part of business.”
Chris Harris further said that WWE would be going down a much different path if things were entirely up to Triple H. The former TNA star alleged that while The Game may not agree with a lot of TKO’s decisions, his hands are tied. According to him, TKO wants somebody who will be the face of the decision-makers and defend every decision that is made, irrespective of how the public sees it.
“But I also feel like there’s probably a lot that would have gone differently if it was all up to Triple H in the decision-making. But because TKO has the final say, I think they’ve stepped in a lot of different situations, and it may not be what Triple H wants—but his hands are tied. If they’re telling him to do something, he’s got to do it—and not only do it, he’s gotta do it with a smile on his face. He can’t go out and make decisions and then let the public know, ‘Well, I didn’t agree with this, you know, what am I going to do?’ That’s not a very good example. They want a guy that’s going to go out there, be the face of the team and defend every decision that’s made. So that’s just my personal side of it. I feel like we have a good guy in charge—but I fell like TKO just I don’t think they much about the wrestling side of it. I can’t say the wrestling business because they’re so much about the business part of it. I don’t think they care as much about the wrestling and what actually goes into the wrestling part of it as I do about just, you know, making a dollar. So, that’s unfortunate—but my Go, how many billions can you really make? But that’s just what they’re doing, man.”
It remains to be seen how long Triple H will continue as the head booker for WWE.
