Triple H’s booking has received a lot of criticism in recent times.

Triple H took over creative control of WWE from Vince McMahon a few years ago. Since then, the WWE product has undergone many changes as The Game has tried to put his stamp on it. Many changes have been positively received by the talent and fans, while some have been criticized.

The way Triple H has treated talent is a lot different from the Vince McMahon era. WWE stars don’t have to spend endless days on the road away from their families. Many talents have also been given a more relaxed schedule. On the other hand, his booking has received widespread criticism as of late, with many fans claiming that The Game only cares about the company’s bottom line rather than booking meaningful storylines. However, there are some who will defend Triple H’s booking decisions.

Cody Rhodes defends Triple H’s booking decisions

During a recent episode of his What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast, Cody Rhodes said that Triple H’s booking style differs from Vince McMahon’s or other bookers in that he allows the talent more ownership over their character.

“Most of the time this is my story. It’s my character. I want to get it as good as I can and then you guys fix it up, filter it, produce it for me. One of the things I love about WWE is taking talented people, but then producing them. You’re producing them and funneling and right now Hunter has a different style funnel — Triple H that being — than Vince had, than any other booker’s.”

Cody Rhodes further added that Triple H’s booking style brings forth a style of booking that is fun and allows more room for collaboration and trying new ideas.

“He has a different style that’s really fun if you’re a player for him to go, ‘Hey, I want to be your main guy. I want to be — but this is my — what about this? Try it.’ And to try his sandbox, to try and collab and match that idea.” [H/T Ringside News]

Under the Triple H regime, Cody Rhodes’ career has flourished. He won the Royal Rumble twice and then went on to have three WWE Championship reigns. He is also the current Undisputed WWE Champion. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Cody is supportive of The Game’s booking style.
