John Cena “Thankful” Cody Rhodes Is Back In WWE

Cody Rhodes

John Cena believes Cody Rhodes is competing on an even more elite level than before now he’s back in WWE.

After establishing and then eventually leaving All Elite Wrestling, it was in Dallas Texas that ‘The American Nightmare’ made his return to WWE on the grandest stage of them all, taking up the challenge of Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins at WrestleMania 38.

Whilst there were plenty from both inside WWE and outside the company who welcomed him back at the time, the plaudits have kept coming and now John Cena has added to them.

In a discussion on WWE’s The Bump, Cena spoke of how proud he is of Rhodes and thinks he’s competing at another level now.

I’m extremely proud of Cody, especially because he was bold enough to bet on himself. He knew it was going to be painful, he knew it was going to be a path of growth and now he’s back and now he’s performing at a level even more elite than before. He’s kind of crafting his own path, he’s more more authentic. The Cody Rhodes you see is him, it’s the young man I saw speak when inducting his father into the Hall Of Fame.

“He’s Learned This Business”

Continuing on, John Cena talked about how much Cody Rhodes has learned whilst with AEW, and how that’s put him in an even better position now he’s back in WWE.

In his path, he’s learned business, he’s learned this business, he’s learned to be more grateful, he’s learned how events are set up, he’s learned grips, cameramen, audio people, catering. Not that he didn’t before, but because that was a lot of his responsibility, he got a new depth of field for everything that happens here and I’m really proud of him. I’m really thankful he’s back where he belongs in the WWE.

John Cena also discussed the rising popularity of LA Knight.
