John Cena had some supportive words for Randy Orton following The Viper’s decision to sign with the WWE SmackDown brand.

The careers of WWE legends John Cena and Randy Orton have run parallel for over 20 years. The two men signed with WWE around the same time in the early 2000s, trained together at OVW, and debuted on the main roster around the same time in 2002.

Cena went on to win 16 WWE World Titles while Orton has 14 WWE World Titles. They also wrestled each other dozens of times both on television and at live events during their careers. They have even been allies at times as well.

On American Thanksgiving, John Cena reacted to a clip that WWE posted about an OVW match that he had with Orton. Cena gave thanks to everybody who has helped him along the way, including Orton.

In September and October, Cena was regularly on the WWE Smackdown brand due to the SAG-AFTRA actor’s strike. Cena’s not there anymore due to the strike ending, but Randy Orton has returned to WWE after missing 18 months of action with a serious back injury.

Orton appeared on WWE Smackdown in Brooklyn where the master of the RKO chose to sign with Smackdown instead of Raw. It was a decision supported by John Cena, who shared his enthusiasm on Twitter/X.

Absolutely incredible to see @RandyOrton continue to excel after such a storied career. A massive pickup for #Smackdown and a word to the wise … watch out for that RKO!

There is no doubt that John Cena and Randy Orton will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Famer. It’s certainly possible also that they choose to induct each other due to how closely their careers are linked together.

What Happened In John Cena’s Last WWE Match?

The unexpected fall 2023 WWE return of John Cena had some great moments, but then it ended poorly. Cena and tag team partner LA Knight picked up a win over The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa & Jimmy at WWE Fastlane in October.

However, when Cena faced Solo Sikoa in a singles match at Crown Jewel, Solo destroyed Cena with about a dozen Samoan Spikes to the throat so Solo got the win. Paul Heyman of The Bloodline declared that Cena’s career was done and he was never coming back because of Solo. Cena has yet to comment on when he might return to WWE.
