A final NXT match has been announced for JD McDonagh, who was recently drafted to the WWE Raw brand.

The 2023 WWE Draft began this past Friday on Smackdown with some of the top picks being Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman (as a package deal) & Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair going to Smackdown. Meanwhile, Raw chose to keep Cody Rhodes & Becky Lynch on the Raw brand.

On Saturday’s WWE Smackdown Lowdown show that airs on Peacock/WWE Network, more supplemental draft picks were announced with some NXT stars getting drafted to the main roster.

JD McDonagh, who some fans may remember using the name Jordan Devlin in the past, was among those drafted and he’s going to be on the Raw brand moving forward. The new WWE Draft rosters will begin on the Monday, May 8th edition of Raw meaning that Devlin has one more episode of NXT ahead of him before he’s a Raw guy.

After he was drafted to Raw, the “Irish Ace” JD McDonagh posted this video on Twitter talking about how he wanted one more match in NXT before his Raw career began.

Several hours later, the NXT Twitter account announced that JD McDonagh’s final NXT match will be against talented newcomer Dragon Lee in what should be a sensational matchup between two incredibly talented performers.

The 33-year-old JD McDonagh has been part of WWE since 2016, he was part of the NXT UK brand for several years and then moved over to NXT where he became the Cruiserweight Champion. McDonagh became one of NXT’s top heels as a challenger for Bron Breakker’s NXT Title on multiple occasions and had a long rivalry with Ilja Dragunov among others.

Typically in pro wrestling when a wrestler leaves a “territory” it usually means they are going to lose their last match, so a win for Dragon Lee is certainly a possibility, but in WWE you just never know what might happen unless you watch to see what happens.
