Jade Cargill Gives Herself Unusual Nickname

Jade Cargill WWE

Jade Cargill has a unique nickname for herself although she might have to talk to other WWE superstars about merchandise opportunities.

The WWE Backlash France PLE was a big one for Jade Cargill because she became one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Bianca Belair. The powerful duo defeated the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) in the only title change at the show.

For Cargill, it was the first title win in her WWE career, which also means she can appear on Raw & Smackdown since she’s one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Cargill was drafted to Smackdown in the recent WWE Draft.

While talking to Tim & Eli on Battleground, Jade Cargill reflected on how far she’s come in her wrestling career after starting in AEW a few years ago before signing with WWE last fall. Cargill spoke about the electric crowd at Backlash France compared to her AEW days at Daily’s Place in front of no fans when the COVID-19 pandemic prevented fans from attending.

“It doesn’t seem that far away. I think it’s harder performing in front of your co-workers with the pandemic days. If anything, everybody knows everything so it’s more nerve-racking for me to perform in front of my co-workers rather than performing in front of fans. I love fans. I welcome fans.”

“The European crowd was, wow, it was crazy. If anything went off the rails, they were like, ‘YAY! YEAH!’ It’s crazy. With the Daily’s Place days, I wouldn’t think I would be here right now. I would think I would still be where I was.”

“I knew I was destined for great things. I know that I am the unicorn of wrestling right now. Would I think I would be in this position? No, but I knew I was destined for great things.”

The word “unicorn” has been used in the NBA to explain some current star players who have a unique set of skills.

When asked about the unicorn term that Cargill used, Jade thought of some other WWE superstars.

“Let me talk to [New Day] first before I run with that.”
