Jacob Fatu Held Out Of SmackDown Match For Medical Reasons

WWE star Jacob Fatu

The reason why WWE pulled Jacob Fatu from his scheduled match on SmackDown has been seemingly revealed.

Fatu was advertised to challenge Drew McIntyre for the #1 Contender’s match, with the winner challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, possibly at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI.

The 33-year-old was featured in a brief backstage segment with Rhodes before his match, where he said he would show the champion why he is all gas and no brakes.

A while later, a commotion ensued backstage, revealing the The Samoan Werewolf had been attacked and left bloodied by someone unknown.

The attack automatically caused Jacob Fatu’s removal from the match against The Scottish Warrior.

The incident angered Rhodes, who challenged McIntyre in an impromptu title match. It ended in a disqualification after Cody hit Drew with the title.

Drew McIntyre, meanwhile, sent a shocking threat across on social media, vowing to get back at The American Nightmare.

What’s Happening With Jacob Fatu?

According to a recent update, Jacob Fatu was sidelined from his match due to medical reasons.

Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net revealed that the former Bloodline member had been going through extensive dental and health-related procedures.

A fan asked if it was cosmetic work, to which Hays confirmed positively, but also stressed that it was not limited to just that, but to his health as well.

The entire situation with Jacob Fatu has been received with haste and confusion, with multiple sources providing dissimilar reports.

Earlier, Bodyslam had stated that the WWE star was set to be out of action ‘well into 2026,’ but PWInsider claimed that he was not medically cleared and was expected to return soon.

Elsewhere, Dave Meltzer said that none of his sources within the Stamford promotion backed the ‘out until 2026’ report.

As of this moment, it’s a wait-and-watch situation for the fans of Jacob Fatu.
