Cody Rhodes Snaps On Major WWE Star At SmackDown

Cody Rhodes exploded on a major WWE Superstar on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

The American Nightmare last defended his Undisputed WWE Championship at Wrestlepalooza against Drew McIntyre. Tonight on the blue brand, The Scottish Warrior was scheduled to face Jacob Fatu in a number-one contender’s match for another shot at the title.

However, The Samoan Werewolf was pulled from the match after he was mysteriously attacked backstage. Although McIntyre denied being behind the ambush and demanded to be announced as the new number-one contender for Rhodes’ title, the latter was not convinced. Instead, he came out fuming and decided to fight McIntyre in San Jose.

The two superstars brawled for a few minutes as SmackDown went on a commercial break. They later returned to the ring to start an official match. Nevertheless, the bout ended with McIntyre’s victory via disqualification after the champion hit his opponent in the face with the championship belt.

WWE Officials Had To Step In To Separate Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre

After the match, Rhodes continued to attack McIntyre. As he attempted to take out The Scottish Warrior with a Cross Rhodes on the announce table, he was stopped by WWE officials and security.

Although SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis tried to calm The American Nightmare down, the latter did not stop. Instead, he rushed back into the ring, climbed to the top rope, and flew into McIntyre and security personnel.

A furious Cody Rhodes then stood in the ring watching a shocked McIntyre retreat as the show went off the air.
