IMPACT World Title Match Announced For Slammiversary

impact wrestling slammiversary 2023

The IMPACT World Title match is set for Slammiversary following a huge title change at the Against All Odds event.

At Friday’s IMPACT Wrestling Against All Odds event, Alex Shelley became the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion for the first time in his 20-year career when he defeated Steve Maclin for the championship.

There’s also a new number one contender for the IMPACT World Title after Nick Aldis won the 8-4-1 one match that started as an eight man tag team match, then the winners faced off in a fatal four-way and Aldis emerged as the winner.

Following Against All Odds, IMPACT announced that Shelley will defend the World Title against Aldis at Slammiversary on Saturday, July 15th in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Prior to Against All Odds, the only other match announced for Slammiversary is the Knockouts World Title match between the champion Deonna Purrazzo and the challenger Trinity.

Here’s the full announcement from IMPACT Wrestling regarding the World Title match at Slammiversary on Saturday, July 15th.

Seismic Shift in IMPACT World Title Picture Leads to Alex Shelley vs Nick Aldis at Slammiversary

At Against All Odds, Alex Shelley overcame the odds and defeated Steve Maclin to become IMPACT World Champion for the very first time. An accomplishment over 20 years in the making, Shelley finally won “the big one”. Earlier in the night, Nick Aldis conquered seven other competitors in the first-ever 8-4-1 match, punching his ticket to the main event of IMPACT Wrestling’s summer pay-per-view extravaganza. At Slammiversary, Alex Shelley will defend his newly-won IMPACT World Title against Nick Aldis in a highly-anticipated matchup.

We know that Aldis has had his sights set on reclaiming the gold since his shocking return to IMPACT this past April. But with Shelley finally realizing his lifelong dream, is there anything he’s not willing to Sacrifice in order to remain on top? Shelley, Aldis, the epic IMPACT World Title clash that you can’t miss goes down at Slammiversary.

IMPACT Wrestling celebrates its 21st anniversary at Slammiversary LIVE July 15th on pay-per-view from the St. Clair College Sportsplex in Windsor, Ontario. Tickets are on-sale now at Eventbrite.ca.
