Gunther’s World Title Reign Allegedly Ending At WWE SummerSlam
One of the biggest highlights of this year’s SummerSlam will undoubtedly be the clash between powerhouse Gunther and seasoned veteran CM Punk, with the World Heavyweight Championship at stake.
Both stars bring immense talent to the ring. Gunther’s raw, unstoppable power will face off against Punk’s veteran savvy and ring psychology.
The Ring General is the reigning and defending champion, and he recently showcased his dominance by successfully defending his title against wrestling legend Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL. He is riding high on his victory over the WWE Hall of Famer and is confident that he’ll easily defeat The Best in the World, too.
But according to a certain wrestling star, Gunther’s glorious reign might come to an end this SummerSlam weekend.
Aiden English Predicts CM Punk Will Beat Gunther at SummerSlam
Speaking on the REBOOKED Wrestling podcast, TNA star Matt Rehwoldt, formerly WWE’s Aiden English, predicted that Gunther might lose his World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk at SummerSlam.
“I think it’s Punk. I think this might be the night. Big, big match. It’s hot mania,” said English.
Co-host Goldenboy echoed the sentiment, adding, “Yeah. And you know, when you consider how things will likely unfold on night two, a perfect way to kick it off is to crown a new world champion in CM Punk. Fans will go, ‘Yay!’ He gets that big moment on Saturday as a newly crowned world champ. Who knows where this could lead?” (1:08:18 – 1:08:45)
