Gunther Buries WWE Hall Of Famer, Claims They Weren’t A Wrestler

GUNTHER WWE

Gunther is no fan of one particular WWE Hall of Famer.

The history of the Intercontinental Title goes back a long way, but Gunther now stands as the longest-reigning champion in history. This puts his current reign beyond runs by the Honky Tonk Man, Randy Savage, Mr Perfect, and a whole host of WWE legends.

During an appearance on The Bump, the dominant star was asked for his opinion on seven former champions, and he held nothing back when discussing the Ultimate Warrior. The Austrian blasted the controversial Hall of Famer for being just a showman.

“Those are the real dark ages in our sport. He is a showman. He’s not an athlete, not a professional wrestler. He’s a showman. So, now everybody knows I have to be the one to keep this title for the longest time in history to wash its reputation clean, and set it to a new standard,”

Gunther To Defend Intercontinental Title At Survivor Series

Gunther will take on The Miz at Survivor Series, but the number one contenders match to get there didn’t go to plan. During the Fatal-Four-Way Match, Ricochet suffered a concussion causing him to botch the finish, sparking confusion in the ring, and at the announce desk.

In recent weeks Gunther has also hit back at Bret Hart after being criticised by the WWE legend.
