34-Year-Old Former WWE Champion Officially Turns Heel

A longtime babyface WWE superstar has officially adopted the heel persona.

In the main event of WWE SmackDown on October 10th in Perth, Aleister Black beat Damian Priest in a Last Man Standing Match thanks to an assist from his wife, Zelina Vega.

The fight between Black and Priest went into the crowd as they fought on some equipment cases. While there, Vega showed up, handed her husband Black an object, and Black threw a fireball into Priest’s face. Black delivered a Black Mass kick to Priest, who bumped through a table below, and Black won the match.

Prior to that match, WWE hadn’t acknowledged that Black was married to Vega, even though they have been married for seven years.

For many years, Vega was a babyface wrestler who was part of the LWO at times and also did well on her own. Earlier this year, Vega won the Women’s US Title, which was her first singles title win in a WWE career that has lasted about eight years, minus the time when she was away from the company for nearly a year.

Aleister Black And Zelina Vega Deliver Ominous Message On WWE SmackDown

During the WWE SmackDown broadcast from San Jose, a video message aired from Aleister Black and Zelina Vega while they were surrounded by snakes. According to Black, this alliance with his wife was always part of the plan.

Aleister Black: “The reality is, everything I have done has been a calculated move on my end, and I have not felt this accomplished as me aligning with my wife.

“This isn’t new. This was always part of the plan.”

They ended the promo with these words that are sure to make WWE superstars wonder what they are up to next.

Aleister Black: “We are what you would perhaps call a necessary evil.”

Zelina Vega: “The venom isn’t poison. It’s salvation.”

Damian Priest did not appear on this week’s WWE SmackDown episode, likely because he was selling the fireball attack and kept off TV for that reason.
