Former Champion Joins WWE PC Coaching Staff
An ex-WWE Champion is back with the company, although in a non-wrestling role.
Jazz is a former 2-time women’s champion in the Stamford promotion, with whom she signed in 2001 as part of the Invasion storyline.
On her debut at Survivor Series 2001, she was a part of a six-pack challenge for the WWF Women’s Championship, which was vacated by Chyna. She represented the Alliance along with Ivory and Molly Holly, whereas Lita, Jacqueline, and Trish Stratus represented WWF.
She picked up a feud with Stratus, who won the aforementioned bout to become the new champion. She became the champion with a win over Stratus on the February 4, 2002, episode of Raw. She held the title for 98 days.
Jazz would go on to win the title another time, but later get injured, forcing WWE to use her sparingly going forward. Furthermore, due to the creative team’s lack of ideas for her character, she was let go in November 2024.
She returned to the company in 2006, recruited as part of several ECW originals. During this stint, she made appearances at ECW house shows only, where she attacked names like Francine and Kelly Kelly. She was released again in January 2007.
Jazz Announces Joining WWE Performance Center As Coach
After she departed WWE, Jazz continued to work in the independent circuit. She even competed in a Casino Battle Royal match in AEW in 2019.
Her last known appearance as an in-ring performer occurred on April 5 at 360 Pro Wrestling, where she teamed up with Moonshine Mantell and Rodney Mack in a losing cause against Hilda La Muneca, Jon Omari, and Sodapop.
The 53-year-old recently took to Instagram to provide an update about her recruitment as part of the coaching staff by the Stamford-based company.
