Former AEW Star Wins Major Honor On WWE SmackDown Ahead Of WrestleMania 42
The WrestleMania edition of WWE SmackDown saw one of the staple matches of the show make its return tonight. The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale took place on the show once again.
Introduced initially as part of the WrestleMania card, the match has been taking place on WrestleMania SmackDown for the past few years, and this was no different.
The match offers a chance for stars who don’t have a match at WrestleMania to compete for some glory and it saw the inclusion of many top stars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Iljia Dragunov, and the recently debuted, Royce Keys.
Royce Keys dominates on WWE SmackDown once again
Keys made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, but only made his SmackDown debut during last week’s episode, where he defeated Garza to earn his first win.
The former AEW star made an instant impact in the Rumble and made an elimination almost instantly. He eliminated multiple wrestlers from the match on his way to winning the whole thing.
Royce Keys, Talla Tonga, and Otis were the last three remaining in the match, before Tonga eliminated Otis from the match. He then looked to Chokeslam Keys, but he reversed it and hit him with a huge Spinebuster of his own.
The former Powerhouse Hobbs then clotheslined Talla out of the ring to become the latest winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale, taking the mantle on from last year’s winner, Carmelo Hayes.
