A former WWE Champion has teased their return to in-ring competition after being away for 9 years.

Candice Michelle competed in her retirement match in December 2017 at House of Honor 36 – Blizzard Brawl Show, where she defeated Lisa Marie Varon.

She is a former Women’s Champion in the Stamford promotion, a title she held for 105 days before dropping it to Beth Phoenix at the 2007 No Mercy pay-per-view.

Michelle subsequently sustained an injury that kept her out of action for 14 weeks. Upon her return, she suffered another injury, which cost her a WrestleMania XXIV match.

She was released from her WWE contract in June 2009.

Following her 2017 retirement match, Candice Michelle has made sporadic appearances in WWE as well as TNA. During one of her appearances in the Stamford company, she briefly became a 24/7 Champion.

Since then, she has been majorly involved with Total Nonstop Action. She recently shared an Instagram post from a TNA show in Mexico, which she captioned, “Agent, talent, or something in between? The next chapter is closer than you think,” while telling her followers to stay tuned in.

While recently appearing on a virtual signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions, she was asked if being backstage with TNA had any impact on her. She revealed that the impact was much deeper.

Do I miss wrestling? I do. I do. When I came to TNA, I didn’t know really how I would feel and that first moment standing by the ring, I mean, it wasn’t even a second where I thought, wow, I just really miss it and so, yeah, it’s got a deep place in my heart.

The 47-year-old then claimed that being close to the ring even made her contemplate returning to in-ring action.

Once you get close to the ring, it seems to have a deeper place than I think I thought, and just perfect timing for me to come back and explore and be a part of the company and see what I can do there so I’m excited for that opportunity.

The former WWE star clarified that she was fine with working and contributing from behind the scenes as well.
